I turned around to see the damage and there was red stickiness all over her hands, face and clothes, but she had the
This afternoon she got the tape out and I told her she could have 2 pieces. (She gets really tape happy and will use the whole roll in one sitting). After she used her pieces she brought her frog over and pretended like it was talking to me and asking for tape. I told her she already had 2 pieces and she said "frog needs 2 pieces too." I couldn't resist and gave her 2 more pieces of tape. Toys are so real to her at this age, I didn't want to treat her little friend unfairly. I am worried I might have to get a little tougher as she gets smarter and smarter at getting what she wants.
This morning Lucy woke up cranky. She was crying and I thought she must have had a bad dream. Then she sobbed:
"I want to go to Disneyland"
Well, then I figured it must have been such a good dream she didn't want to wake up. We took her to Disneyland for the first time on Saint Patrick's Day and she can't stop talking about it.
I can't even remember what Lucy was giving me the other day, but it was something I didn't particularly want, but she wanted me to want it. She started handing it to me and coaxing me the way I always do
"Say please Mommy"
So I played along and said "Please."
Then she gave it to me and told me what I always say after she says please "Thank you for saying please Mommy"
I feel like I have a little tape recorder going at all times, but really it is just Lucy's brain.
I was writing a quick note in my planner and she grabbed it from me. I reprimanded her for grabbing and took it back. Then she told me "I want to write in your book"
To which I explained "I need to write something important really quick"
Then she answered "I need to write something important in your book really quick"
That reminded me that what she wants to write is important to her. I found a page that she could write on. Couldn't resist, again!
And her last little conversation she had with Dave. They finally had the why do you go to work discussion.
Lucy and I were planning on going to Legoland and Lucy asked Dave "You want to come with us?"
He told her he had to go to work and she of course, asked "Why?"
He tried to explain that he made money so she could do fun things like go to Legoland.
She responded very sweetly "Oh, thanks Daddy"
