Perhaps my favorite thing about Korea is the people. We have already made some incredible friends in such short time. Many families have had us over for dinner, given us multiple rides and given us many gifts. One of my constant worries is how I can ever repay their kindness. Thankfully, I know the Lord is pouring blessings upon them for their true charity. Their giving spirit has humbled me and filled me with a small glimpse of how much the Lord loves his children all over the world.
Here is one family who has been especially kind to us. They instantly befriended our family. I visit with the mother of the family often while are husbands are working. She teaches me Korean while I teach a little English (she already knows a lot). Without her I would be so lonely, but because of her kindess, I think I actually get out and about more than I did at home!
We had a wonderful Sunday dinner with them, before we went together to see Elder Bednar Speak in Seoul at an amazing meeting filled with the spirit. As you can see, Lucy pretty much thinks she is part of their family, and gets very excited when we see them.
I have grown to really like eating on the ground. It is actually really fun and you never have to worry about having enough chairs for guests!
Wow, what a tower their little girl made!
Here I am with their children, cruising on a walk over to the Bishop's house for some fun girl time! What an adorable family who I have fallen in love with! They asked me to make English names for their three children. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe Susan, Peter and Edmund. Then when we all hang out we will have the whole Chronicles of Narnia gang or is that too cheezy?(I borrowed the stroller in the picture and have now fallen in love with umbrella strollers and must have one!)
And here is a couple of cute pictures of Lucy with the Bishop's kids:
Anyway, I am a lucky girl to have these Mom's in my life. Although, we can't communicate as easily as my girlfriends back at home, both of them speak English pretty well. Everyone's husband works late, so we have girl time! I love it!
