A Poppleton Kind of Day

June 16 (Yeah I know this is a little late!)- Before heading North for a while, Lucy and I had one last Poppleton Family day (as everyone gets older and moves different places this is a rare occasion!). There is nothing I love more than being with my whole family. We (Lucy and I) convinced everyone to meet us at the beach, indulge in some pizza, then head for the pool. We finished the night with an impressive rendition of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" in the Ward Talent Show (watch the video below). It's been a long time since we all performed together, so it really topped the day off. All in all, between the beach, the sun, the water and the musical performance it was a Poppleton kind of Day! (We were lucky too! It was cloudy all week, and the days following. It seemed as thought the sun came out just for us!)

For your viewing pleasure you can watch our performance below. It's a little embarrassing (except for my brother Brian, my musical hero), but why keep secrets? I mean the whole ward already saw it and we all need to laugh a little more in our day. Today you can laugh at my expense. Let's just say Dave is really glad he was already out of town and not roped into this one.

Talent Disclaimer: This performance should in no way taint your views of my family's true talent. We didn't want to all perform with our true talent, because making everyone jealous of our family talent isn't what talent shows are all about (Yikes!!!! Just Kidding!) Let me plead my case, We put it together in about 30 minutes, props and all, so you gotta take that into consideration. We didn't want to go all out since we knew there wasn't even a stage at our church building. Without a stage it wouldn't seem like quality theater anyway, so we decided to just have fun, as you will see was undeniably had! That's all that really matters anyway right? Decide for yourself and feel free to leave your honest comments. I am tough. I can take it!

Cousins

This trip to Spokane was very monumental because Lucy got to meet Her Aunt Renee and only cousin Dominic. Of course we took lots of pictures, as well as professional family photos with the whole Pendergrass Family.
After a fun family photo session we took our own matching pictures on our adventure to Coeur D' Alene. I love this shot of the gals!

Cute Cousins!
Both looking out the window, enthralled with a street basketball game going on.
I love Dominic. What an adorable little guy!

Grandpa Bob

Aside from the Funeral, Lucy had a fun short opportunity to hang with Grandpa Bob.
If that face doesn't show shear bliss, what does?

They sure had a lot of fun together, despite the minor tradgedies that occurred at church...
This car was parked outside my Grandma's church. My Dad decided to put Lucy in it, which was very cute. I guess she seemed like she had a handle on things and he started chatting with someone. When I walked out Lucy had took a nose dive and her head was in the grass and her feet were straight up in the air, slightly braced against the car. You will be happy to know that the victim only sustained minor injuries and after a short crying bout seems to be doing fine.

Aunt Gumba (we call my sister Sierra, Gumba) and Lucy on a beautiful day!

Lucy loved this baby swing at the guest cottage we were staying at! This picture makes her look so old, hardly a baby anymore! She sure is growing up fast!

Lucy is 6 Months!

I can't believe that Lucy turned 6 months yesterday! Where has the time gone? When she was first born I wanted to freeze time and keep her so precious and new (as well as freeze the time while I was asleep. The story of "Rip Van Winkle" must have been thought up by a new mother!) I remember thinking "I can't believe she is going to grow up." Now, with half a year down and an adorable personality blossoming, I absolutely love it more than I could have imagined. I hope her whole life goes on like this, wanting her to stay the way she is, but then loving her new changes. This week I have been looking at baby pictures of me with my mom, while she told me cute stories about them.

This image keeps running across my mind that someday Lucy will have a baby and I will be sitting there with her looking at her baby pictures together and she will want to hear the stories of what she is like right now. It is hard to believe that time really does go by that fast. Let's take a moment to truly enjoy where we are at right now.
Here are all the moments we took time to enjoy on her 1/2 birthday. Everything from posing on the table with a cute hat, sleeping in a big girl bed, and even scrapbooking at the church. I couldn't resist taking this picture of Lucy with Grandma Jen when I saw them playing on the gym floor, laughing away with Lucy's little head thing (we call them nuggie guarders in my family. If you don't get it don't worry about it.)

Then we had a little half birthday party for Lucy and my little sister Heidi (her birthday is 2 days before Lucy's). She made this outstanding cake. I think it is adorable and for only being in eighth grade, she is on a roll.
We put 14 candles on the cake because Heidi was turning 13 1/2 + 1/2 for Lucy = 14. I thought that was a cute idea Heidi came up with. Sierra (one of my other sister's who actually shares a birthday with me) mentioned that exactly 15 years from now Lucy would be old enough to get a driver's permit. What a funny thing to think of! Anyway, what a fun day full of memories!

Thanks for Visiting!
